How do I follow a lesson?

Prepare the paper listed for your project. Watch the animation, try the fold with your own paper, then continue. Use Pause, Replay or the slower speed whenever you need a closer look. Top and Angle change the guide's viewing direction.

Red arrows show movement and dashed lines show the crease. “Why this fold?” opens a short written explanation. The guide demonstrates the motion; it does not check or grade your real paper.

How do I use voice commands?

Start or continue a lesson, tap Voice, then Start voice control. On a supported device, allow microphone and speech recognition access. Say one English command at a time, such as Next fold, Show me again, Slower, Pause, Continue, Read this step or Why this fold? Wait for the current animation to finish before asking for the next fold. Use Stop voice or say Stop listening to turn listening off.

Voice control requires available on-device English speech recognition. If recognition is unavailable, permission is denied or audio is interrupted, follow the on-screen message and use the lesson buttons. To retry, open Voice and choose Start voice control. In AR, place the paper and wait for stable tracking before playing a fold. Foliafold does not use server recognition or save audio recordings.

What if I am stuck on a fold?

Tap I'm stuck for Try this, Check your fold and Watch out guidance. Choose Read aloud to hear it without granting microphone access, or Replay this fold to watch the motion again. Selected crane and star folds have tailored help; other steps use the existing lesson instruction with general comparison guidance. You can also use Explain it more simply or Why this fold? in the Voice guide. These are written lesson explanations, not generated AI answers or an assessment of your real paper.

Can I continue where I stopped?

Lesson progress is saved on your device. Return to a lesson and choose Continue folding or Continue · Step [number]. Start over with a new sheet begins a fresh attempt for that lesson. Saved progress does not restore a previous AR room position; scan and place the paper again when returning to AR.

How do I place the guide on my table?

  1. Open Tabletop AR on a compatible iPhone or iPad and allow camera access.
  2. Move the device slowly around a well-lit table. Include some table edges and nearby objects in the camera view.
  3. When a surface is found, tap Place paper. Continue through the lesson while staying in AR.

The position is locked after placement. Choose Move paper when you want to reposition the guide, then Lock position to keep it in place while folding.

If placement is unavailable, try a surface with more visible detail. Very dark, shiny or completely featureless surfaces can be difficult to track. You can always return to the 3D guide.

What if the paper moves or tracking is interrupted?

Pause and point the camera back toward the table. Use Place again to choose a fresh position if needed. After leaving and returning to the app, you may need to scan the table again. Depth and real-object occlusion vary by device and surroundings.

Can I use Foliafold without the camera?

Yes. The 3D guide works without camera permission. To change camera access later, open your device's Settings, find Foliafold and change its Camera permission.

What is included for free?

The Classic Dart and The Little Fox lessons are free. Choose a monthly or annual auto-renewable subscription, or a one-time lifetime purchase, to unlock the complete current library. Subscription access lasts while your subscription is active. Lifetime access has no recurring charge. The purchase sheet shows the localized price and billing period for your App Store region before you confirm.

How do I restore my purchase?

Use the same Apple Account that made the purchase. Open About or the full-library purchase sheet and choose Restore Purchases. An internet connection may be needed. If Apple is still waiting for purchase approval, the lessons unlock after the transaction is confirmed.

If a purchase cannot be found, check your Apple purchase history and contact us. Do not send your Apple Account password or payment-card details. Apple handles payments and refund requests; see Apple's refund guidance.

How do I manage or cancel a subscription?

Choose Manage Subscriptions in About or the full-library purchase sheet, or open Settings on your device, select your name and choose Subscriptions. You can also manage your subscriptions with Apple. Canceling stops future renewals; access continues until your current subscription period ends.

Buying lifetime access does not automatically cancel an existing monthly or annual subscription. If you switch to lifetime, use Manage Subscriptions to stop the subscription from renewing separately.

Does the app need the internet?

Lesson instructions and models are included in the app. Purchases, restores and external tutorial references may need a connection. Optional voice commands use available on-device English recognition; Foliafold does not use server recognition. If voice is unavailable, use the lesson buttons. Foliafold has no app account, advertisements or AI service.
