Your origami lessons run on your device. Foliafold does not require an app account and does not include advertising, third-party analytics or cross-app tracking.

Camera and your surroundings

If you choose tabletop AR, Foliafold requests camera permission. It uses the camera view and available on-device depth information to position and display virtual paper in your surroundings. Camera images, depth maps and room geometry are processed on your device. Foliafold does not record them or transmit them to a developer server.

You can decline or withdraw camera permission in your device's Settings and continue using the 3D guide. The app does not ask for location access or inspect your physical paper to grade your folding.

Optional voice control and reading aloud

Voice control is off until you choose Voice, tap Start voice control and allow microphone and speech recognition access. Foliafold uses Apple's on-device English recognition only when it is supported and available; it does not fall back to server recognition. Audio buffers and recognized words are used temporarily to match supported lesson commands. Recognized words may appear in the Voice guide while it is in use. Foliafold does not keep audio recordings or saved transcripts, or upload them to a developer or AI service.

You can stop listening using Stop voice or the Stop listening command. Listening stops when you leave the app and pauses during spoken explanations. You can withdraw microphone or speech recognition permission in your device's Settings and continue using the lesson buttons. Read aloud uses Apple's system speech synthesis to speak written lesson guidance and does not require microphone access. The app does not generate AI answers or inspect your real paper to judge a fold.

Local learning progress

Foliafold saves your lesson, step, animation progress, completion state, playback speed, hint preference and update time on your device so you can continue later. These learning records do not include camera images, room positions, audio, transcripts or purchase credentials, and are not automatically uploaded. Start over with a new sheet replaces that lesson's saved attempt. Deleting the app removes its local learning records from the device; device backups remain subject to your Apple settings and services.

Purchases

Apple processes purchases and restores through the App Store. Foliafold checks Apple's verified transaction information on your device to determine whether the full library is unlocked. We do not receive your payment-card details, Apple Account password or billing information through the app. Apple manages purchase records under Apple's Privacy Policy.

Local diagnostic information

The app keeps a small status file on your device to help troubleshoot lesson playback and AR. It can include the app version, lesson, step, animation progress, time, tracking state, available camera/depth features, camera image width and error messages. It contains no camera images, depth maps or room coordinates and is not automatically uploaded.

Deleting the app removes its local files from that device. Device backups and Apple purchase records are managed through your Apple settings and services.

Support messages

If you choose to email support, we receive your email address and the information or attachments you send. We use that information to answer your request and troubleshoot the issue. Sending a message is optional; the app does not automatically attach camera images or diagnostic files.

Support correspondence is kept only as needed to handle the request and maintain necessary support records. You can request access, correction or deletion of your support correspondence by emailing adrianchenyuqiu@gmail.com. Email is processed by the email services used to send and receive your message.

Tutorial references and Apple help links open external sites. Their operators apply their own privacy policies. We do not add advertising or analytics scripts, forms or embedded third-party media to these Foliafold support pages.

The website's hosting and security services may process standard web-request information and use technical cookies and security scripts to deliver and protect these pages. Cloudflare may set security cookies and run browser checks; see Cloudflare's cookie information. This website processing is separate from the native app's on-device camera and depth processing.

No AI service or advertising profile

Fold explanations are written lesson notes. Foliafold does not send your questions, camera view or activity to an AI service. We do not sell personal information, create advertising profiles or use tracking SDKs.
